Our Story

It all started with a tiny triangle tattoo on my wrist. My permanent brand inspiration.

The idea of starting my own brand had been brewing in my mind for years. It wasn't until recently that it came to life with a real presence, and more importantly, a name. It all started back in 2007, when I began my college years at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Spending so much time in New York City allowed me to explore the alluring underside of the concrete wonderland. I worked and played in the Meatpacking District, near The West Village, where I fell in madly in love with the downtown vibe. I just couldn't get enough. It was, and will always be, the food for my soul. 

After graduating college, I landed a dream job that allowed me to travel throughout Thailand, India and Bali, on the most incredible buying journeys. An experience that has shaped my view of the world, and the way that I want to live for the rest of my life. My trips have been more fulfilling and more authentic than I could  have ever imagined. Spending time in   India has been wildly  impactful and inspirational. My journeys there have led to my  everlasting adoration of Indian design and artwork, especially those of the  Meena Tribe. The white tribal paintings that adorn the   terracotta colored walls in Rajasthan, India, will forever have my heart.

On my most recent trip to Bali, I decided on a whim that it was time to start my own brand. I was inspired by the essense of Bali. Sitting on the beach, I would doodle ideas on the pages of my travel journal, and kept coming up                 with triangles.   Something in me had ignited, and the inspiration was pouring out of me. I was seeing triangles in everything. It’s amazing how quickly your perspective, and the way you look at things, can change. Literally, what I saw with my eyes     had been reshaped. Instead of dusty sidewalks and foreign street signs,   I began to notice triangle tiles and geometric forms of inspiration. I settled on the name, West Village Tribe, because it just felt so right. It is a compilation of all things that feel like home to me.

We are more than just handmade jewelry and accessories.

My spirit and inspiration lives somewhere between the Hudson River, the jungles of Bali, the cliffs of Rhode Island, and the streets of India.
